Diabetes and Antibody (I think that is what it is called)?

In august 2006, 13 years old, i was diagnosed with diabetes type 1. today i had a doctor appointment and he said i will need to get a blood test determining whether or not i have an antibody. i got tested in november and had a high antibody. i need to get tested again to see if it was right seeing as it was right after being diagnosed with diabetes. what are the chances of the antibodies being high again and what happens with the disease. my mom said you cant eat pasta and she used the word gluten.?????? Is it fatal? Are there any athletes that have it? HELP!!!!!!!!!!
