Question about m/c D&E etc... please help?

So yesterday had cramping and bleeding, this is my second preg. first is a healthy 12month old. anyway went in they did u/s etc gave me the news. its ok, sucks but everything happens for a reason. I was 10wks, anyway went in dr said had ped most already put me in stirrups said if cervix wasn't open would have to d&c, said there was some tissue left, he suctioned it out and checked again. anyway. what is a d&e? I didn't have any drugs, it was a quick procedure. on my papers it said diagnosis, S/P and D&E. what's all this? I'm just confused and was too overwhelmed at the time to ask. Anyone had this before? when is it too soon to ttc again? have ? anything I go back to the drs in another week. Thank You for any help!
