Does anyone dumpster dive to find stuff to sell on eBay?

I'm running into tight finances and was wondering if anyone dumpster dives to find stuff to sell on eBay. Is this profitable? I see that lots of stuff can be found in dumpster, but I'm scared to give it a try. Please help.
